On November 27, 2023, Syed Mahbubul Alam, a secretary of CLPA, engaged in a crucial meeting with the Director General of Primary Education at the Directorate of Primary Education, MOE. The meeting aimed to discuss the formulation of policies centered on promoting physical activity and fostering healthy dietary habits within primary schools across Bangladesh. During the interaction, the Director General highlighted the vast scope of the primary education system, comprising over 65,000 schools, 4,27,000 teachers, and approximately 20 million students. Syed Mahbubul Alam provided the Director General with relevant guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and shared CLPA’s policy brief aligned with these objectives. The results of this meeting included the acknowledgment of the extensive educational landscape and the necessity of coordinating efforts with health authorities. The gender perspective within these guidelines and policy brief s intends to ensure equitable access to physical activities and healthy diets for all students, , thereby fostering inclusive and comprehensive educational initiatives .
