Md. Taofiq Ahmed is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) policy analyst at the Center for Law and Policy Affairs (CLPA), with over a decade of experience advancing digital rights, civic education, and inclusive technology-driven development in Bangladesh.

With an academic background in Computer Science and Engineering and professional expertise in network and cybersecurity, he has built a multidisciplinary career at the intersection of technology, human rights, and public policy. His work focuses on promoting digital rights, access to information, and ethical use of technology, particularly for underserved and marginalized communities.

Taofiq Ahmed has played a key role in strengthening media and information literacy (MIL) and civic awareness through collaborations with international organizations such as DW Akademie, ARTICLE 19, Free Press Unlimited, and UNICEF. He has contributed to the development of training curricula and digital security toolkits, and has led capacity-building initiatives for journalists, civil society actors, women, and marginalized groups on issues including misinformation, fact-checking, and online safety.

His work in ICT rights aligns with broader concerns in Bangladesh regarding freedom of expression, privacy, and inclusive digital governance, where strengthening digital literacy and civic engagement remains essential for protecting democratic participation.

In the field of civic education, he integrates digital literacy with active citizenship, empowering communities to critically engage with information, participate in public discourse, and advocate for accountable governance. Through his work at CLPA and beyond, he continues to promote a rights-based approach to digital transformation—ensuring that technology serves as a tool for empowerment, transparency, and social inclusion.
