Universal Health Coverage: A Legal Perspective

Our Team Member’s Article Published in National Daily

We are proud to share that an insightful article titled “Universal Health Coverage: A Legal Perspective”, authored by one of our esteemed team members, has been published in a leading national newspaper.

The article explores the constitutional foundation of healthcare rights in Bangladesh, emphasizing that healthcare is not merely a service but a fundamental right guaranteed under Article 32 of the Constitution. Drawing on the landmark Supreme Court decision in Government of Bangladesh vs Professor Nurul Islam (2017), the piece highlights how the right to life extends to include access to healthcare, clean environment, and basic human necessities.

Importantly, the article sheds light on the gap between constitutional guarantees and the realities faced by many citizens who still struggle to access affordable medical services. It calls for stronger commitment toward achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) as both a legal obligation and a moral responsibility.

This publication reflects our organization’s ongoing commitment to advancing legal awareness, public health rights, and policy advocacy.
